Freaky Friday - Bad Retro Album Covers Galore!

First Freaky Friday back for 2013!
I thought I'd better really bring my freak - and freak it good.

(This will be the one giving me nightmares tonight)

(Save room for Elin and Egil in that life boat)

Because one freaky puppet isn't enough.

Neither do I Merle, neither do I.

That's just how I like my Country Gospel - Warm.

Happy Friday!

  1. So much to say ..but I leave that to the more eloquent! ....but Merle gotta stop smoking! .....I think Elin and Egil are safer sailing on the boat than with the hairstyle twins! No more freakin puppets but Kathleen takes the cake....shudder

    1. LOL - thanks Pippa!!
I don't think I'd want to hop in the lifeboat either with The Wilder Trio - it's the quiet ones you've got to watch you know! x

  2. When you get your freak on, you put everyone else to shame. This truly the freakiest bunch of covers you've ever assembled in one post.

Where to start? When I saw God's Chosen Puppet, I didn't think it could get any worse...but then I saw the super-creepy clowns or jesters or whatever they are and just about screamed out loud. Elin and Egil were weird enough, but I almost lost it when I read the next one. Hey, wait...do WHAT to me in the lifeboat? Two more freaky puppets, Merle's dermatitis and a cow...What can I say about that?

    You've outdone yourself!

    1. Thanks Dana - I'm glad you liked this Motley Crew! Was good fun assembling them - disturbing, but fun!
Poor Merle. I suspect a smudging of Vaseline over the lens for that shot....x

  3. Speechless. God's Chosen Puppet. How could you possibly lead with that one? It was too bizarre. Merle's cover was clearly shot in the days before Photoshop. Poor dear. But I just keep going back and back to God's Chosen Puppet. Send in the clowns. How dare you.

    1. Hi Rebecca! LOL - Kathleen in her pretty pastel pink was the last to be found actually, but was destined as the front cover the moment I saw her. x

  4. Its all about the puppet! I am truly disturbed by "Surprise Party". A bit like when you know you shouldnt look at something.....but you keep looking anyway....I keep scrolling back to it and get a little more disturbed each time! I too will be having nightmares! And poor Merle, that must've been the pick of the bunch from the photo shoot she did for that cover. I think I need to hear a warm country gospel from JoHn and Clara just to stop me thinking about those weird clown men(clara certainly dressed up for the cow didnt she)
Thanks for brightening my day :)

    1. Hi Pollos! I know - the Surprise Party had me going back time and time again too. Can only imagine the music on that album!!
I'd like to hear a warm country gospel too - and wear a dress just like Clara's. x
